HomeMy Public PortalAboutBy-Law 2007-48 Adopt Policy for Placement of Advertising Signs at Tweed Community CentreCORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF TWEED BY-LAW NO. 2007-48 Being a By -Law to adopt a policy for the placement of advertising signs at the Tweed Community Centre. WHEREAS the Municipal Act, 2001 gives general authority for councils to adopt policies; O 0 AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Tweed deems it expedient to adopt a policy to establish provisions for advertisement signs by non-profit organizations at the Tweed Community Centre; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Tweed enacts as follows: That the Policy for Advertisement Signs at the Tweed Community Centre for Non - Profit Organizations attached hereto as Schedule "A" to this by-law is hereby adopted as the policy for the placement of advertisement signs by non-profit organizations at the Tweed Community Centre (Arena). 2. That this by-law shall come into force and take effect immediately upon the passing thereof by the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Tweed. Read a first and second time this 9th day of October, 2007. Read a third and final time, passed, signed and sealed in open Council this 9th day of October, 2007. REE diZe* CLERK CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF TWEED BY-LAW NO. 2007-48 SCHEDULE"A" POLICY for ADVERTISEMENT SIGNS at the TWEED COMMUNITY CENTRE for NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS The following provisions shall constitute the Policy for local non-profit organizations to advertise in the Tweed Community Centre: 1. A business or organization other than a non-profit organization stipulated below shall pay an annual fee to the Municipality of Tweed to advertise in the Tweed Community Centre as set out in the Sign Rental Contract. 2. The following organizations may advertise in the rink area, at no charge, in the Tweed Community Centre: Tweed Kiwanis Club Tweed Lions Club Knights of Columbus Tweed Royal Canadian Legion Beta Sigma Phi Sorority Chapman Women's Institute 3. The above -noted non profit organizations will be permitted to advertise, at no charge, inside the ice rink area in the Tweed Community Centre on the north, south or east walls. 4. A written request for signage must be submitted to the Arena Committee. 5. Signage approval must be granted by the Arena Board Committee before the sign is installed. 6. The wall sign will be 4 feet high by 7 feet long and made of white, light weight, corrugated plastic material that is commonly used within the industry. 7. The non-profit organizations will maintain the sign in good condition. Should there be failure to do so, the arena staff may remove the sign at their discretion. 0
