On behalf of the Board of Directors of Aspotogan Heritage Trust (AHT), I would like to extend our
thanks to the Municipality of Chester for their ongoing support of the Aspotogan Ridge Golf Club
since the early stages of development in 2017-2018.
While the decision to assume operation of the course was risky, as a Community Development
organization with a long-standing involvement in ensuring the successful re -development of the
former CFS Mill Cove property, AHT was committed to seeing the golf course open and to that end,
was willing to take on operational management of this community course as a social enterprise. The
decision of the Municipality to support this project was also not without its risks and AHT wishes to
acknowledge this and thank you for your commitment to the economic growth of the region that this
funding represents.
As we begin planning for the fourth year of operations, AHT would like to provide you with an
overview of the courses progress to -date. The attached report is a summary of the progression over
the past three operating seasons (noting that 2020 season are numbers incomplete, as they based on
December 31, 2020 not the fiscal year end of March 31). It also provides a snapshot of the
employment and economic impact the golf course has made to the local economy, specifically within
the Municipality of Chester.
As we head into the 2021 season, we anticipate continued growth in users and ongoing improvement
to the course itself. The funding from Municipality was substantial, and together with similar
financial investment from AHT, is enabling the golf course to reach its goal of break-even operations
ahead of schedule.
