Click here to view the live webcast. • Sign up today to receive information on Council meetings direct to your inbox – Subscribe Here Proclamation Request – Girl Guides of Canada – World Thinking Day – Council resolved to light up Town Hall in blue on February 22, 2022 as Girl Guides celebrate World Thinking Day, a day of international friendship. Bylaws: • Electronic Meetings – Council Procedure Amendment Bylaw 1364.02 – Council gave first and second reading to Council Procedure Amendment Bylaw 1364.02, and directed staff to proceed with public notification as prescribed under the Community Charter. The amendments reflect the updated sections of the Community Charter that allow for electronic meetings. • Local Government Election Amendment Bylaw 1376.02 – Council gave first three readings to Local Government Election Amendment Bylaw 1376.02. The amendment to this bylaw will allow all electors to be able to vote by mail in ballot following the amendments to the Community Charter. • Sewer User Rates Amendment Bylaw 1331.09 – Council adopted Sewer User Rates Amendment Bylaw 1331.09. This Bylaw sees rate increases of 4% for 2022 and 5%, 6%, 4% and 3% for the years 2023 – 2026, respectively. • Water Regulation Amendment Bylaw 1351.10 – Council adopted Water Regulation Amendment Bylaw 1351.10. This Bylaw sees rate increases of 5% for 2022 and 5% for 2023. • Zoning Amendment Bylaw 1380.20, Development Permit – 491 Salamander Avenue – Council gave first and second reading to Zoning Amendment Bylaw 1380.20. This bylaw would see a change in zoning in order to construct six townhouses comprised of two (3 unit) buildings. A Public Hearing has been scheduled for February 14, 2022. • Zoning Amendment Bylaw 1380.21 – 6005 Station Street & 248 Co-op Avenue – Council adopted Zoning Amendment Bylaw 1380.21. This Zoning Amendment Bylaw will permit vehicle manufacturing at these locations. • Zoning Amendment Bylaw 1380.23 - Lots 5 & 6. KAP64043 – Council gave first and second reading to Zoning Amendment Bylaw 1380.23. This Zoning Amendment Bylaw would facilitate the subdivision of 10 duplex lots on a portion of Lots 5 & 6. A Public Hearing has been scheduled for February 14, 2022. 2021 Bylaw Enforcement Update – Council received a report from the Bylaw Enforcement Supervisor outlining the successes of the Bylaw Enforcement Section of the Development Services Department through the past year and actions moving forward. The coming year will see promotion of a ‘See Something, Say Something’ mindset for the community. 2022 SILGA Call for Nominations – Council nominated Councillor Grice bid for the position of second Vice-President for the 2022/2023 term.
