BYLAW 1411
A Bylaw to implement a municipal ticketing system
WHEREAS the Community Charter authorizes council, by bylaw, to enforce certain bylaws by
ticket, designate bylaw officers authorized to enforce certain bylaws and set fines for different
bylaw offences;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Town of Oliver enacts in open meeting as follows:
Section 1 - Citation
1.1 This bylaw may be cited for all purposes as “Municipal Ticketing Bylaw 1411.”
Section 2 - Interpretation
2.1 In this bylaw:
a) “Municipal Officer” means any person appointed by council to a position established
by the Town of Oliver’s Appointment of Bylaw Enforcement Officers Bylaw.
b) “RCMP” means any member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Section 3 – Bylaws Designated for Ticket Enforcement
3.1 The bylaws listed in Column 1 of the Table of Contents, attached to and forming part of
this bylaw, may be enforced by a ticket in the form prescribed by regulation under the
Community Charter.
Section 4 – Designated Bylaw Enforcement Officers
4.1 The persons appointed to the job positions or titles listed in Column 2 in the Table of
Contents are designated as Bylaw Enforcement Officers pursuant to the Community
Charter for the purpose of enforcing the bylaws listed in Column 1 of the Table of
Contents, opposite the respective job positions.

Section 5 – Short Descriptions
5.1 The words or expressions set forth in Column 1 of Schedules 1 - 18, attached to and
forming part of this bylaw, designate the offence committed under the bylaw section
number appearing in Column 2 of Schedules 1 - 18, opposite the respective words or
expressions.
Section 6 – Fine Amounts
6.1 The amounts appearing in Column 3 of Schedules 1 - 18 are the fines set for the
corresponding offences designated in Column 1 of Schedules 1 - 18.
Section 7 - Repeal
7.1 Municipal Ticketing Bylaw 1289 and all amendments thereto are hereby repealed.
Read a first, second and third time on the 13th day of June, 2022.
Adopted on the 27th day of June, 2022.
