Geotechnical and archaeological assessments will begin shortly. The geotech will determine the characteristics of the bedrock on which the new piers will be built. The archaeological investigations will help determine the cultural resources present. The information gleaned from these assessments will help fine tune the engineering parameters. Construction will follow once all permitting and consultation work is completed. We’re hopeful that can occur next year. Please be aware that by NS law, pedestrians and cyclists may use the roadways to re-route around the bridge, but under no condition are off-highway vehicles permitted in the road corridors. When leaving the trail to detour around the bridge closure, please be conscious of vehicle traffic, use the proper side of the road (facing traffic as a pedestrian; with traffic as a cyclist), and be extra cautious at road crossings. 6 EXPLORE LIFE Summer ‘23 Pr o g r a m s Barnyard Bunch - Hubbards This summer we are pleased to offer a fun and mature program for our older youth community members. I am so excited to be back making and implementing programs for the youth in our community. Since last summer I have completed my first year at Acadia University in Biology and Environmental Science. I love everything to do with the outdoors and learning about the creatures we have in our community! As well as my love for nature, I enjoy crocheting (examples in the photos above), playing soccer, hiking, and painting. I’m hoping my love for the outdoors will elevate our outdoor programs and as a group we can have the best year yet! Look out for our team, we will be in green staff shirts this summer representing the MOC colours! See you all this summer, come say hi! Do, or do not, there is no try Happy Summer!
