MUNICIPALITY OF CHESTER – After two rounds of online voting, the winners of the 8th Annual
Best of Chester Municipality Business (“Best Of”) Awards were announced this morning by
Warden Allen Webber during Council.
Best Of gives customers the chance to show their appreciation to local businesses located within
the Municipality of Chester with winners and runners-up in 23 categories. These businesses were
nominated by the public between March 9 to 23, 2023, with the top three nominations (including
ties) moving on to the voting round. Voting was open to the public from March 30 to April 20,
2023 with an option to provide feedback informing how the program operates moving forward.
Warden Webber says, “Local businesses and non-profits are essential to what makes our
community a special place to live and visit. The quality and care they put into their crafts don’t
go unnoticed. Thanks to all business owners, non-profit associates, employees, volunteers, and
customers. Wishing a hearty congratulations to the 8th annual Best Of winners and runners-up.”
The winners and runners-up in each category are as follows:
Best Artisanal Retailer: Nor’easter Apparel (runner-up: Village Emporium)
Best Building Services: Chester Building Supplies (runner-up: Gates Electric)

Best Farm or Forestry Business: Ross Farm Museum (runner-up: Integrity's Haven

Best Garden Services: Oceanview Home and Garden (runner-up: Downey’s Pitcher Plant
