WHEREAS By-Law 73-41 was passed on December 28th, 1973, by the Council of the ToWnship of Sandwich South, to enter into an Agreement with the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement Board for payment of supPlementary benefits to employees; WHEREAS the Agreement quotes "Normal Retirement Date" of a covered member as the last day of the month in which he attains his 65th birt'hday; WHEREAS Section II of Omers Regulation of OntariG Municipal Employees Retirement System Act RSO ]980 states retire- ment date of firemen is the last day of the month in which he attains his 60th birthday; NOW THEREFORE THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF SANDWICH SOUTH ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. That since Omers Regulation of Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System Act RSO 1980 .states the retirement date of firemen is the last day of the month in which he attains his 60th birthday; 2. And since Omers Regulation of Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System Act RSO 1980 states normal retirement date of a covered member other than fireman and police is the last day of the month in which he attains his 65th birthday; 3. That the Agreement with the Ontario Municipal Employees Re- tirement Board for payment of supplementary benefits to Sandwich South employees be amended to inc]ude firemen when they reach their 60th birthday; 4. This by-law shall come into force and take effect on the date of its final passing.
