BY_LAWS:
3.1 1st Reading – AMENDMENT – Sewer By-Law #34 – to repeal Part “H” of the Sewer By-Law No. 34
and replace with a charge for sewer services applicable to all systems.
POLICIES:
3.2 1ST Notice – ADOPTION – P-79 Wind Energy Revenue Policy – a policy to ensure sustainable
investment for anticipated wind energy revenue.
3.3 2nd Notice – ADOPTION – P-78 Records Management Policy – a policy to establish that the
Municipality will follow the Association of Municipal Administrators of Nova Scotia’s records
management policy.
3.4 1st Notice – AMENDMENT – P-36 Unsightly Premises Cleanup Assistance Program Policy – to
clarify policy applies to all waste, not just special collection materials.
3.5 1st Notice – AMENDMENT– P-80 Dangerous or Unsightly Premises Policy – includes repeal of
Policies P-15 Unsightly Premises Policy and P-32 Dangerous and Unsightly Premises Policy to
encompass aspects of both in a new policy to provide authority to designate property as
Unsightly granted to the Committee rather than an administrator, clarifies Council is the appeal
body and retains authority to order demolitions under the Dangerous and Unsightly Portion of
the MGA, Building and Unsightly Premises Committee reduced to two members plus warden,
process established that is separate from the Policy.

5. CORRESPONDENCE:
5.1 Verbal response from Frank Sullivan, Canada Post dated May 5, 2014 in response to a letter sent by
Council on March 20, 2014 regarding Lighting at Community Mail Boxes.
5.2 Correspondence from Feed Nova Scotia dated April 25, 2014 regarding the request for a donation
to help offset the cost of making regular deliveries to food banks in your region.
5.3 Correspondence from Chester Municipal Heritage Society dated May 6, 2014 regarding the request
that the fees at the landfill be waived for the purpose of disposing of the materials from the
demolition of the Union Street building.
5.4 Memo from Civic Address Coordinator to CAO dated April 30, 2014 regarding new road name – Red
Fox Run, Fox Point.

SUBJECT: New Road Change -'Reg and Don Lane' to be changed to
RED FOX RUN', FOX POINT
BACKGROUND:
Municipal Council approved the road name 'REG AND DON LANE' off of Mount Marina Road in Fox
Point on November 27.2008.
DISCUSSION:
There are two property owners who wish to change this road name. One owner is Marina Road
Estates (c /o Michael Argand) and the other is Liam & Raina Clancey. Marina Road Estates is currently
selling their property to Bob Ouellette & Louise Lanteigne. All three parties have agreed on the new
road name change and have submitted three road name choices.
They are:
1st choice - RED FOX RUN
2nd choice - FOXBERRY WAY
3rd choice - FOXBERRY HOLLOW
The road names that we have in our road list that are similar are:
Red Shirt Rd. in New Russell
Red Rock Rd. in Forties
Fox Point Front Rd. in Fox Point
Fox Point Lake Rd. in Mill Cove
Foxwood Dr. in Mill Cove
I contacted the Hubbard's Fire Chief, the Municipal Councilor and the Public Works
Department Director for comments and approval for these road name choices:
Hubbard's Fire Chief, Clary Coolen - OK
Municipal Councilor, District 2, Floyd Shatford - OK
Public Works Department Director, Matthew Davidson - OK
IMPLICATIONS:
If Municipal Council approves a new road name this new road name change will be forwarded to all
the emergency departments, the Tax Office and the Registry of Deeds Office.

The new road sign will be purchased by the property owners and the sign will be posted by the
Public Works Department.
