SUBJECT: Demolition of 18 Hiltz Road, Martins Point

BACKGROUND:
The Building Code & Unsightly Premises Committee made a recommendation to consider an order to demolish
the property located at 18 Hiltz Road, Martins Point, Lunenburg County, PID 60108487 as it is in an unsightly
condition and deemed un-repairable (This was approved by Council on April 25, 2013.)
On June 13, 2013 Council received a letter from the contractor indicating that the demolition would take place in
the very near future and Council approved the following motion:
2013-275 - MOVED by Councillor Myra, SECONDED by Councillor Church-Cornelius that Council defer the
decision to issue an order for demolition until the July 11, 2013 Council meeting. CARRIED.
DISCUSSION:
On June 17, 2013 an email was received from the Chief Building Inspector indicating that the demolition was
completed and the lot cleaned up (pictures provided).

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended to not proceed with issuing an order as the demolition is complete and the site has been
cleaned.

Pam;
The demolition at Civic# 18 Hiltz Road, Martins Point is complete. The two structures have
been removed and the lot cleaned up. I have enclosed pictures I took today, June 17, 2013.
