1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Moved by: Councillor Milner
Seconded by: Councillor MacLeod
THAT the agenda be approved as amended adding 6.c regarding Sussex
Distilleries development on Main Street.
Motion Carried
2. DISCLOSURE OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST
No members present declared a conflict of interest on any of the items on the
agenda at this time.
3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF MEETING #03-23
Moved by: Deputy Mayor Wilson
Seconded by: Councillor Maguire
THAT the minutes of meeting 03-23 be approved as circulated.

5. BUSINESS ARISING OUT OF MINUTES
5.a ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STEERING COMMITTEE.
There are no new updates at this time.
5.b FUNDY TRAIL PARKWAY.
There are no new updates at this time.
5.c SUSSEX POPULATION GROWTH STRATEGY:
5.c.1 COVENTRY WALK SUBDIVISION
CAO Hatcher advises the Committee on the ongoing progress of the
Coventry Walk Subdivision. CAO Hatcher reviews with Committee that
the 2023 construction work is well underway and into Phase 2 on
Thomas Lane. Three of the four remaining lots have foundations
installed. Phase 3 work has commenced as of this week.
5.d ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS
5.d.1 Jubilee Hall - 2023 Installation Discussion
CAO Hatcher reviews with Committee the 2023 E -Charge Network
funding potential. NB Power believes there will be a new cost sharing
program in 2023. Administration awaits word on potential funding that
may be available to add two additional charge units.
5.e FLOOD MITIGATION PLAN UPDATE
There are no new updates to report at this time. Administration will keep
the Committee informed on the status of Administration's application for
the Flood Mitigation Project.
6. NEW BUSINESS
6.a Kings Regional Service Commission - Strategic Planning Process
CAO Hatcher and Mayor Thorne advise Committee of the four strategic
sessions planned for the Kings Regional Services Commissions.
The first session held on Thursday April 13, 2023 was not well attended
with only 10 - 12 non staff strategic partners participating.
The next session is scheduled for Wednesday April 19, 2023 regarding
Community Development and Regional Transportation. Mayor Thorne,
Deputy Mayor Wilson and CAO Hatcher are to participate.
Future meetings are scheduled for May 3, 2023 and June 2, 2023.
A brief discussion followed on issues and the new mandated services of
the Regional Services Commissions.

6.b Downtown Business Association Board Meeting Minutes - April 6,
2023
Deputy Mayor Wilson reviewed with Committee the Downtown Business
Association board meeting minutes of the April 6, 2023 meeting.
A brief discussion followed on the issues and events planned for 2023.
6.c Sussex Distillery Update
Mayor Thorne and CAO Hatcher indicated to Committee that planning is
well underway for the new development on the site next to Castle Bridge
to be occupied by the Sussex Craft Distillery.
Administration is not yet in receipt of building plans, yet the current zoning
is downtown commercial which has a multitude of permitted land uses.
Committee requested that Administration keep Committee updated on the
progress of this development.
