1. Approval of Agenda
Moved by: Councillor Nelson
Seconded by: Councillor MacLeod
THAT the agenda for this Committee of the Whole meeting be approved as
circulated.
Motion Carried
2. Disclosure of Conflict of Interest
No members present declared a conflict of interest on any items on the agenda
at this time.
3. Approval of Minutes March 20, 2023
Moved by: Councillor Milner
Seconded by: Councillor Brenan
That the minutes of the Committee of the Whole meeting, held on March 20,
2023 be approved as circulated.

4. Motions Arising out of Committee of the Whole
Chairperson Maguire noted that there were no outstanding motions arising out of
the Committee of the Whole.
5. Delegations, Petitions and Correspondence: Nil
6. Business Arising out of Committee of the Whole
Chairperson Maguire noted that there was no business arising out of the
Committee of the Whole.
7. Works Committee
There were no items on the agenda for the Works Committee.

8. Community Services Committee
There were no items on the agenda for the Community Services Committee.
9. Economic Development and Long Range Planning Committee
There were no items on the agenda for the Economic Development and Long
Range Planning Committee.
10. Protective Services Committee
There were no items on the agenda for the Protective Services Committee.
11. Administration Committee
There were no items on the agenda for the Administration Committee.
12. New Business
12.a Sussex Ale Works 2023 Patio
CAO Hatcher reviewed with the Committee the draft approval letter to
Sussex Ale Works for placement of their patio from May 1st, to October
31, 2023. The Committee agreed to forward this item to Council through
the Administration Committee.
12.b Ranger's Monument Maintenance
CAO Hatcher informed the Committee that he was able to determine
through Sussex's Maintain X Work Order system and conversations with
Community Services Director Thorne that the monument undergoes
regular monthly maintenance.
12.c Hospice Sussex Donation Request
CAO Hatcher reviewed the request from Hospice Sussex and informed
the Committee that the annual donation to Hospice Sussex for the past
few years has been $500. The Committee agreed to forward this item to
Council through the Administration Committee.
12.d Municipal Capital Borrowing Board
CAO Hatcher reviews with the Committee the correspondence from the
Department of Environment and Local Government regarding ministerial
approval number 23-0029 for Sussex's application to the Municipal Capital
Borrowing Board.
12.e ASDS 2023 Regional Heritage Fair
Councillor Maguire advised the Committee that he will be attending and
serving as a volunteer at the ASDS 2023 Regional Heritage Fair at
UNBSJ on May 4, 2023.

12.f Planning Advisory Committee - Eric Falkjar Application
Committee received the application and the consensus of the Committee
was to send the application to the Administration Committee for review.
13. Date of Next Scheduled Regular Meeting May 15, 2023
Chairperson Maguire noted that the next regular meeting of the Committee of the
Whole is scheduled for May 15, 2023.

That this open session of the Committee of the Whole meeting be adjourned.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:11 pm.
