FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 7, 2014
NEW LEADERSHIP FOR THE MUNICIPALITY OF CHESTER
MUNICIPALITY OF CHESTER – Council and Staff for the Municipality of the District of
Chester will welcome a new CAO starting November 3, 2014.
Tammy Wilson may be a name familiar to some. She resigned from the CAO position
with the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg earlier this year to work with the Nova
Scotia Department of Municipal Affairs.
“I hadn’t anticipated returning to municipal government, but when this opportunity
came up, I couldn’t say no,” says Tammy. “The Municipality of Chester is in the midst of
positive transformation, and I’m excited to be a part of it.”
Tammy has a strong academic background and work experience that makes her well
suited to lead the team at the Municipality. Her past leadership position, coupled with
her knowledge in planning and local government match well with the core activities of
the Municipality, and will ensure strategic objectives continue to move forward.
“Council looks forward to working with Tammy and having the opportunity to introduce
her to the community,” says Warden Webber. “The transition is expected to be smooth,
and staff are currently preparing for her arrival.”
Tammy resides in Bridgewater with her husband Mike and son Alexander. She enjoys
volunteering anywhere she feels she’s making a difference in someone’s life, and is
presently chair of the Bridgewater Inter-Church Food Bank.
With her energy level and appetite for growth, Tammy is “ready to assume the CAO
position, and take the Municipality of Chester to the next level along with Council and
the assistance of staff.
Welcome to the Municipality of the District of Chester, Tammy!
