PLAN REVIEW TO HOST AUGUST MEETING ON CHESTER VILLAGE CHARACTER
VILLAGE OF CHESTER – On August 19, at the Chester Legion, the Municipality of the
District of Chester will host a public session on growth, development and planning for
Chester Village. The meeting is part of the Plan Review, an ongoing public process to
update the goals and vision for our community.
Last winter, residents confirmed that the physical character of the Village was very
important. At this meeting, residents will discuss what aspects of character are most
important. The meeting will also look at what types of housing and architecture are most
appropriate, and what type of design should be encouraged. As a result, the Municipality
will better understand exactly what residents value about Chester, and create an
appropriate Plan for how the Village should look and feel in the future.
There is an Open House in the morning and afternoon. Residents are invited to drop in
between 10:30 a.m. and noon or 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. to view the work to date on Village
character. A public meeting will start at 7:00 in the evening to discuss architecture,
heritage, design and public spaces. Please drop by to meet your neighbours and chat
about these topics.
Please stay tuned in the fall, as locations and dates for meetings in other districts will be
announced for September and October.
