SOUTH SHORE REGIONAL ENTERPRISE NETWORK APPOINTS LEADER
SOUTH SHORE – After an extensive search for a Chief Executive Officer, the South Shore
Regional Enterprise Network (SSREN) is pleased to announce that Carole Lee Reinhardt
accepted the position late last week.
“Carole Lee is a considerable asset to our team,” says Annette St. Onge, SSREN Board
Chair. “She brings knowledge, experience, and vision to the table. Her st rong leadership
skills will take the SSREN to where it needs to be in terms of creating opportunities in
economic development for the area.”
SSREN is a collaborative group representing the nine municipal units that comprise the
South Shore of Nova Scotia (from Shelburne to Chester). In 2014, the province
eliminated Regional Economic Development Agencies in favour of Regional Enterprise
Networks. The relatively new organizations are intended to help develop regional
strategies for municipalities, businesses, and the Province. With the foundation laid, the
SSREN is anxious to get started.
One of the first deliverables will be the preparation of a Regional Economic
Development Strategy, which will be done in collaboration with the Province, municipal
partners, the business communities, and economic development stakeholders and
intermediaries.
Carole Lee resides in the Mahone Bay area and is an active member of her community,
serving on various boards and committees . Throughout her career, she has been heavily
involved in the area of economic development, financial and operational management,
and strategic planning. Her executive experience includes work with the Canadian
Manufacturers & Exporters, the NS Department of Economic and Rural Developmen t
and Tourism, and the NS Department of Education.
In addition to her impressive practical skill s, Carole Lee’s strong academic background
matches well with the core mission and values of the SSREN. Under her leadership, the
organization will move forward with their mandate to cultivate economic development
on the South Shore and maximize opportunities for growth.
