WORKPLACE SAFETY TOP PRIORITY FOR MUNICIPALITY
MUNICIPALITY OF CHESTER – Workplace safety is a top priority for the Municipality
of the District of Chester and they want to ensure it is one for their contractors as
well.
That is why the Municipality, in partnership with the Nova Scotia Construction
Safety Association and the Chester Municipal Chamber of Commerce, is holding a
free Contractor Safety Workshop on March 21, 2016 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the
Atlantica Oak Island Resort in Western Shore.
They invite all contractors, small and large, to become aware of the Nova Scotia
Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations - and for those wanting to work
for the Municipality, the minimum health and safety requirements that must be
met. The workshop will provide important information on the Nova Scotia Health
and Safety Act and provide assistance in the development of safety policy and
programs.
The Municipality wants to help contractors obtain their letter of good standing or
an appropriate safety certificate. Open up new business opportunities working with
the Municipality by registering in advance with Sandra Challis by phone at 902-275-
2599 or email at schallis@chester.ca. Pre-register before March 18, 2016 for a
chance to win a first aid course for two or important safety equipment.
