HomeMy Public PortalAbout59-00 TRAFFIC (WARD 2)Village of Sussex Corner By-law No. 59-00 A By-law respecting traffic on municipal streets in the Village of Sussex Corner made under the authority of the Motor Vehicle Act, R.S.N.B. 1973, c.M-17, and amendments thereto, in the Village of Sussex Corner. Be it enacted by the Council of the Village of Sussex Corner as follows: Definitions 1. In this By-law: (a) The words defined in Section 1 of the Motor Vehicle Act, R.S.N.B. 1973, c.M-17, and amendments thereto, when used in this By-law, shall have the same meaning as the Act; (b) "Council" means the Mayor and Council of the Village of Sussex Corner; and (c) "Village" means the Village of Sussex Corner. 2. (1) No person shall operate a truck on the municipal street named Cougle Road from the intersection of the off ramp named Earnhardt Road to the intersection of Route 111, named locally as Post Road. (2) The following trucks are exempt from the provisions of subsection (1): (a) a truck defined as an authorized emergency vehicle under Section 1 of the Motor Vehicle Act, R.S.N.B. 1973, c.M-17; (b) a truck transporting materials for the construction or repair of Cougle Road, Barbara Drive, Robert Street, Cathy Street, Brick Lane, Lorie Lane or Murray Court; or the construction or repair of water, sewer, power, telephone or cable services situated thereon; (c) a truck transporting materials to or from a building or property fronting on Cougle Road, Barbara Drive, Robert Street, Cathy Street, Brick Lane, Lorie Lane or Murray Court; and (d) trucks equal to or equivalent in size to '/2 tons, 3/4 tons, 1 ton and private passenger/family-type vehicles. Snow or Ice on Streets 3. No person shall place snow or ice upon any street or sidewalk in such manner that it impedes, or is likely to impede, the movement of traffic or pedestrians thereon. Motorized Snow Vehicles and All Terrain Vehicles 4. No person shall drive, have or cause a motorized snow vehicle or all terrain vehicle to be upon a municipal sidewalk. Miscellaneous 5. No person shall drive or ride a horse upon a sidewalk. Penalties 6. A person who violates any provisions of this By-law, is guilty of an offence, and is liable, on conviction, to a fine of not more than one hundred ($100.00) dollars, and in default thereof, to imprisonment for not more than thirty (30) days. 7 This By-law comes into force on the date of final passing thereof, and approval of the Lieutenant Governor.
