A BY-LAW TO AMEND THE VILLAGE OF SUSSEX CORNER
SEWER BY-LAW 18A
The Village of Sussex Corner by the authority of the Municipalities Act of the Province of New
Brunswick hereby enacts the following amendments to By-law # 18A - A By-law Respecting the
Sewer System:
1. Section 3 Amended to reflect a name change and shall read as follows:
"If it is established by the owner, the Village and the New Brunswick Department of
Health and Wellness that such a building does not require toilet facilities, the owner of
such building may be exempted from the requirements of Section 2."
2. Section 6(1) Amended to change responsibility as follows:
"Before connecting a lateral to the sanitary sewer, the owner shall submit to the Works
Supervisor an application on a form approved by Council."
3. Section 21 Amended to remove existing wording and replace with the following:
"The Village shall not be required to allow the installation of any service pipe or pipes at
any season of the year which, in the opinion of the Works Supervisor, is not suitable for
the performance of the work."
4. Section 24(2) Amended to reduce wording and change the rate as follows:
"The consumer shall pay the Village an administration fee of One Hundred and Fifty
Dollars ($150.00) for each sewer connection."
5. Section 24(3) Amended to reduce wording as follows:
"In cases where the property is being developed by a Developer, the Developer shall
incur the costs outlined in Section 24 (2) above as well as the costs of the initial
connection to the Village's main line from the property."
6. Section 34(b) Amended to remove this section.
7. Section 34(c) Amended to renumber to 34(b) and change a section reference:
"proceed in accordance with Section 37."
