Three years later LunenbUrg County was reduced in size when Queens County was established. At a meeting of the Council of Nova Scotia orr July 2t, 1762, it: was decided "that the 'Townships of Liverpool Icn and Yarmouth Barring - together with the intermediate Lands should be erected into a County by the name of Queens County." Following the establishment of Queens County in 1762, Rants Coun- ty in 1787., and Shelburne and Sydney Counties in 1784, the boundaries of all nine of the Counties were defined by the Council of Nova Scotia.
