APPROVAL OF AGENDA Moved by: Mayor Thorne Seconded by: Councillor Milner THAT the agenda be approved as circulated. Motion Carried 2. DISCLOSURE OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST No members present declared a conflict of interest on any of the items on the agenda at this time. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF MEETING #12-23 Moved by: Councillor Bobbitt Seconded by: Councillor Milner THAT the minutes of meeting 12-23 be approved as circulated. Motion Carried 4. DELEGATIONS There were no delegations. Economic Development and Long Range Planning Committee Meeting January 9, 2024 Meeting # 13-24 5. BUSINESS ARISING OUT OF MINUTES 5.a SUSSEX POPULATION GROWTH STRATEGY: 5.a.1 COVENTRY WALK SUBDIVISION CAO Hatcher advises the Committee that the last of the planned 2023 structures were undertaken on January 9, 2024. Work on the structures will take place over the winter months. There is an expected March 2024 start for adding the remaining 4 lots in Phase 3. 5.b ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS CAO Hatcher advises of the necessary equipment for the next charging stations have arrived. Work to install the two stations at Jubilee Hall will take place in March 2024. 5.c FLOOD MITIGATION PLAN UPDATE There was nothing new to report on the flood mitigation file. A meeting to solicit assistance from MP Moore took place on Monday, January 8, 2024. Administration will keep the Committee informed. 6. NEW BUSINESS 6.a KINGS - REGIONAL SERVICES COMMISSION 6.a.1 NOVEMBER 2023 - SOLID WASTE REPORT CAO Hatcher reviews with Committee the solid waste report for November 2023 received from the Kings Regional Service Commission. The report indicates an increase in tonnage received at the Transfer Station in 2023. Correspondence received and filed by the Committee. 6.a.2 NOVEMBER 2023 - BUILDING & PLANNING REPORT CAO Hatcher files with Committee the November 2023 Kings Regional Service Commission Building and Planning report. These services are not provided to the Town. Correspondence received and filed by the Committee. Economic Development and Long Range Planning Committee Meeting January 9, 2024 Meeting # 13-24 6.b SUSSEX DISTRICT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE 6.b.1 LUNCH AND LEARN - DECEMBER 13, 2023 Councillor MacLeod spoke on the Sussex District Chamber of Commerce lunch and learn held on December 13, 2023. Councillor MacLeod said the lunch and learn held an interesting discussion on workplace stress and the self -management of a busy professional life and a personal life. Councillor MacLeod indicated the lunch and learn sessions are put on monthly by the Chamber and all who are interested are eligible to attend. Correspondence received and filed by the Committee. 6.c MULTICULTURAL ASSOCIATION OF SUSSEX (MAS) CAO Hatcher advises that the MAS January 2024 newsletter was received mid -afternoon and has been added to the agenda for the Committee to review. Deputy Mayor Wilson spoke on the recent programming at MAS, and as well MAS's participation at the December Downtown Old Christmas events. Correspondence received and filed by the Committee. 7.
