BYLAW 1399
A bylaw to authorize the closure of road for portions of Station Street
WHEREAS Section 40 of the Community Charter provides that a Council may, by bylaw,
permanently close all or a portion of a highway that is vested in the municipality to all or
some types of traffic and remove the dedication of a highway;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Town of Oliver deems it necessary and expedient to
close portions of Station Street at Veterans Avenue to Highway 97 to all traffic besides
Lots 6/7, Block 3, Townsite of Oliver and Lots 1/2 Plan 5615; and
AND WHEREAS before adopting this bylaw, the Council has given notice of its intention
in accordance with Section 94 of the Community Charter and to provide opportunity for
persons who consider themselves affected by the bylaw to make representations to
Council;
NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Town of Oliver in open meeting
assembled enacts as follows:
1.That a portion of road dedicated on Plans KAP 90396 and the Townsite of Oliver,
all in DL 2450s, Similkameen District Yale District identified on Plan EPP106269,
shown outlined in black bold on the plan attached to and forming part of this bylaw
as prepared by Pendergraft Surveying, B.C.L.S., completed the 1st day of October,
2020 is hereby closed to traffic and the dedication as a highway is removed.
2.This bylaw may be cited for all purposes as “Road Closure Bylaw 1399 (Station
Street)”.
Read a first and second time this 9th day of November, 2020.
Approved pursuant to section 41(3) of the Community Charter this 2nd day
of February, 2021

Notice of intention to proceed with this Bylaw was duly advertised in the Times
Chronicle on the 6th day of January, 2021, and on the 13th day of January, 2021 as per
Section 94 of the Community Charter.
Read a third time this 25th day of January, 2021.
Adopted this 8th day of February, 2021.
